Beaklet Mumbai Kaali Peeli
A flash of yellow. A gap in traffic. Gone already. Mumbai Kaali Peeli carries the city’s familiar black-and-yellow contrast into a Beaklet for catching the things that rarely stay long enough to be asked.

The details
A yellow cap, dark barrel and beak-shaped clip. A familiar city contrast, close at hand.
A Beaklet is a refillable writing instrument. Ink flows from the converter through the feed to the nib, then onto your page.
Box contents
Each box contains one Beaklet pen, two ink cartridges and an instruction booklet with guidance on setting up, using and caring for your pen.
The story
A taxi rounds the waterfront curve. Sunlight scatters across the water. By the time you look again, the picture has changed.
Mumbai Kaali Peeli brings yellow and black together in a design drawn from the city’s taxis. The bright cap, dark barrel and beak-shaped clip give that passing flash somewhere to stay.
Keep it close for a line overheard, a sketch made in transit, or the thought that arrived while you were on your way to something else.

The bird in the design
Our clip takes its shape from a Hornbill’s beak. A small detail that brings the story into the Beaklet.
The ink on the page
Ink travels through the feed to the nib, where the next line begins.
Room for another thought
The converter draws ink from a bottle so you can refill and keep writing.
Checked before it leaves us
Every Beaklet is inspected, from the nib to the finish, before it leaves us.
The inspiration
Mumbai arrived with a camera.
In our Hornbill’s story, a photographer from Mumbai visits Dandeli. A yellow raincoat. A jeep between trees. Sunlight on water. He keeps photographing things the forest doesn’t know are important.
The Hornbill watches. Inside a frame, the ordinary looks different. Mumbai’s lesson is a quick one: some moments are worth catching before they disappear.
Gateway of IndiaBuilt in 1924 on the Apollo Bunder waterfront. The basalt arch still faces the Arabian Sea.
Marine DriveA 3.6 km curve along the sea. Lit up at night, the city calls it the Queen’s Necklace.
Kaali PeeliBlack below, yellow on top. The Premier Padmini taxi carried Mumbai for nearly sixty years.
Mumbai localThe suburban trains carry millions of people a day. Mumbai calls them its lifeline.
Vada pav and cutting chaiA spiced potato fritter in a soft pav and half a glass of strong tea. Breakfast on the move.

A little help
Get to know your Beaklet.
How does a Beaklet write?
A Beaklet is a refillable writing instrument. Ink flows from the converter through the feed to the nib, then onto your page.
Which nib should I choose?
Every Beaklet comes with a choice of two nib grades: Fine (F) and Extra Fine (EF). A finer nib makes a narrower line; a broader nib leaves a wider one. Your handwriting, paper and ink also affect how the line looks.
If you are unsure, tell us how you like to write. We will help you understand the available options.
What ink should I use?
Use ink made for refillable writing instruments with a nib and feed. Other inks can clog the feed and interrupt the flow.
When changing ink colours, clean the Beaklet first so the old ink does not mix with the new one.
Can I use cartridges?
Please check the compatible cartridge format listed for your edition. Cartridges and converters need to fit the Beaklet correctly. If you are unsure, ask us before choosing a refill.
