the little details.

The bird in the design

Our clip takes its shape from a Hornbill’s beak. A small detail that brings the story into the Beaklet.

The ink on the page

Ink travels through the feed to the nib, where the next line begins.

Room for another thought

The converter draws ink from a bottle so you can refill and keep writing.

Checked before it leaves us

Every Beaklet is inspected, from the nib to the finish, before it leaves us.

The inspiration

Before the colours, there was curiosity.

Our young Hornbill begins with a tree he knows and a world he doesn’t. Then he looks a little further. A branch becomes a sky. A sky opens into a valley. The world keeps going.

We liked that as a beginning for Beaklet. The moment you notice something, you have somewhere for a thought to go.

Hand-drawn map of The Hornbill The great hornbillDandeli’s forests in Karnataka are famous for hornbills. Four species live here. In flightTheir wingbeats are so loud you hear the bird before you see it, a whoosh through the canopy.

A little help

Get to know your Beaklet.

How does a Beaklet write?

A Beaklet is a refillable writing instrument. Ink flows from the converter through the feed to the nib, then onto your page.

Which nib should I choose?

Every Beaklet comes with a choice of two nib grades: Fine (F) and Extra Fine (EF). A finer nib makes a narrower line; a broader nib leaves a wider one. Your handwriting, paper and ink also affect how the line looks.

If you are unsure, tell us how you like to write. We will help you understand the available options.

What ink should I use?

Use ink made for refillable writing instruments with a nib and feed. Other inks can clog the feed and interrupt the flow.

When changing ink colours, clean the Beaklet first so the old ink does not mix with the new one.

Can I use cartridges?

Please check the compatible cartridge format listed for your edition. Cartridges and converters need to fit the Beaklet correctly. If you are unsure, ask us before choosing a refill.
